So what do we need to know in this grey area chipest limitation in one hand and factory overclocked (guess multiplier) only 2920?

since there is no such thing as enough preformance what is the best notebook coolers should let you overclock vga's without burning the house?

guess m17x r2 owners should have experince regarding coolers

    Nice topic :)

This will be a hot one, hehe!
I'll be able to test Silverstone NB1 (no longer manufactured, but obtainable in a few rare places), and the Thermaltake Massive 23 CS, but of course not until "my" M18x arrives.

when i had my R1 qx9300/gtx 280m sli my TT massive 23 cs did wonders for the CPU temps -10c, not so much for the gpu temps though : /.

More importantly than having fans in a cooler, simply raising up the bottom of the laptop to allow it to get adequate intake airflow is really all that is needed. This is why the GPUs on the R1 and R2 saw little no improvement, they had the angled bottom so always got air there and no problems.

I have a Lian Li NC-09 laptop cooler. Fits perfectly under my M1730 and works a treat, wonder how the M18X would go....

I still think the NZXT cryo lx fits the m18x best as the cooler's fan are at the top.

I severely doubt the M18x will fit on a cryo LX. I have one and the m17xR3 fits it quite well. Anything bigger though, and forget it imo!

    Cooler Master SF-19

This is what I use for my 17 and will use for the 18, its big enough to hold up to a 19 inch laptop, and there is room left when I use the 17.

I freaking love this thing, my only complaint is that it cant be usb powered, and I need another plug to power the cooler fan. The extra usb 3.0 will be nice, for what, I dont know yet. :p

I love the lighting on it and it matches well and cools well.

Judging by my M17x R1 on my Cryo, the M18x will overhang the sides by about 0.5" but front to back should be fine. I plan to use my Cryo on my M18x when I get it
