Anybody else a little concerned over how the m18x supports 2 drives? Seems like stacking the drives on top of each other could cause issues with heat.

Maybe we could just use SSD ? SSD seem less heat consume.

They should be fine, M17X r3 HD is stuck near the CPU/GPU yet it run just fine
M18X drives is away from GPU/CPU from the screenshots i saw, Dell wont sell a laptop with HD issues, it would cost them a lot of money in the long run.

While HDDs (and SSDs) do indeed generate heat, it's far less than what the GPUs & CPU show.

I would not worry at all about that.

    OK cool.

I may wait to decide if I am going to get one after one of the notebook masters on here gets one and lets the rest of us know if there are any issues ;)

This describes me as well :D

The X7200 and many clevo laptops have used this format for hard drives for a while now, I see no reason to be worried.

I think it will be fine. When you think about it, honestly the main drive you will be hitting is the SSD, so quite likely the physical drive isn't going to get warm all that often as it will be shut down much of the time.

Don't think it's anything to be worried about.
