The problem is that official NVIDIA drivers won't budge, it states that the windows version is not compatible with the driver and it shuts off. For now I'm trying to get M4000M to run, no luck so far.

To set SG via the BIOS you would need an unlocked one.

The "Hardware-ID", necessary to mod the driver, can be found under the device manger, right click on the graphics card, usually it is "Microsoft Standard Display Adapter", or something like this. Then go to "Details" --> "Property".

So... after a little more struggling it seems that the machine doesn't recognize any other discrete card but the stock GTX 765M. Can anybody post the relevant nvdmi or whatever the file is called in this iteration? Every driver I've tried (for the M3000M and M4000M) says Windows version not compatible either/or No relevant hardware found, with the second message being far more prevailent.

Got the BIOS unlocked (A16+) and even returned to factory settings (after a little tinkering in the BIOS it decided that I don't have a boot sector, after default RAID0 - which wasn't the case - was changed to AHCI ^^' )

It is set in SG mode, but all I get is Default Microsoft Display.

Finally! My P4000M has arrived, as well as the 3D screen (full HD 120Hz instead of the 900p 60Hz it had), so now it's time to finally get working. Will keep you posted on the process

As usual a problem occurs - need to switch from LVDS to eDP, so I need a cable for that... Anyone knows where to get it for cheap? Except AliExpress and others?
Or if any other model of the cable will fit? Got my eyes on Dell XPS cable, but not sure about dimensions

Anything in Europe? Almost 70 bucks with shipping is kind of an overkill :/ if nothing shows up I guess I'll order this one though. I'm still waiting for a supplier here in Poland that said it may be available on Tuesday.

Anybody knows if a cable from other Dell laptop is long enough to support it?

it is supposed to work as long as the connector and every single thing is same as original DELL ones... I Have repalced many LVDS cables and all of them worked ..never made me search for original one ... just some 3rd party cable makers
