    Hi all,

I have today upgraded to Windows 7 in the main everything was going well installing the drivers etc, until I had to restart the machine upon which my wireless network adapter will not enable. I've tried enabling it, disabling it and then enabling it tried different drivers and the default windows one. If I try to enable a box comes up and it says it is enabling and then enabled but remains greyed out and unavailable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi wacdag,
There is a known issue with the M17X, Windows 7, and the new chipset driver. If you have in fact installed the new chipset driver, follow these steps.

    1. Uninstall the Broadcom driver via "Uninstall Software"
    2. Open your device manager and uninstall the network and wireless cards (making sure to check the "remove driver" box)
    3. Reboot your laptop

    Thanks,
    Gabe

no it didn't in the long run, tried it last night and after 1 or 2 restarts it was ok but after installing the driver for the memory card reader and a couple of other programs like nero, restarted once again and then the wireless connection could not find a single network. So whether it is still the wireless driver or something else conflicting with it I don't know.

Update from last night, retried Glzmo's guide and installed the Dell Wireless 1510 drivers. I have since restarted 3 times after installing other programs and as of this moment seems to have done the trick (although I will know for sure when I get home tonight). The only thing I haven't done yet is install the drivers for media card reader, which maybe conflicting with the wireless adapter. I shall investigate further tonight.
