    Evening all,
Newbie here to the forum but struggling to find and information anywhere on my issues.
I have had my alienware since new and had all the 'not charging' issues, i have replaced charging port several years ago and bought a new PSU and all was fine.
About 6 months ago I was have issues with the battery and could only get the machine to switch on with no battery installed, now in the past couple of weeks I will be working away and the machine just shuts itself down and when restarted wants to start in safe mode.
Any advice would be greatly received as i dont want to give up on my machine yet if I dont have to.
    Thanks in advance
    Jim

It could really be hardware or driver related if it wants to go into Safe Mode. Random shutdowns can also be due to thermals so maybe keep an eye on your temps before it shuts down. If you haven't repasted in a while and cleaned out your heatsinks/fans then it could be a really good idea.
Reinstalling Windows and your drivers may also be an idea. Did the R2 have the ePSA diagnostic? Press F12 during boot to get into the boot menu and see if the Diagnostic is there.
If it's hardware then my guess would be a failing GPU (or GPU's if you're running two).
