What amazes me is that Dell is still selling this system on their website. It's defective and they know it yet they persist.

Its not 'defective' - keep in mind, the DPC latency issue was caused by the NV Display Driver. NV's ManuelG posted on the NV forum the driver was remaining in an excessive DPC state.

    His update never surfaced...

As of the last Verde driver release, NV still has not incorporated the DPC fix. The DPC fix only appears in the two Beta NV drivers which are on the dell support page for the 17x. Hopefully the next driver release will include the fix.

Thats good news guys. A bunch of us with the M17X and even some

Alienware desktop users are having issues of not being able to

    load "Battleground Europe".

I actually had it load with the original Bios and stock drivers my R1 came

with. After I loaded Win7. Spent 3 hours and $50 with Alienware advanced

game support and got it to load occasionaly. After the 2 Bios updates and the

2 Nvidia driver releases, the game no longer loads..... I'm sure it's the

Nvidia driver causing it. Hope the fix works.

It amazes me that Dell will not admit this is a problem. I have been calling them for the past several months about this and all they have done is uninstalled and installed the nvidia video/nforce drivers.

The BIOS update R5 made things worse, the beta drivers have been removed by dell saying that they will not fix the issue... are these new drivers going to do anything.... I'm thinking not...

The audio skips, the video skips, the computer overheats, graphical games shutter, and when the damn computer freezes, the cursor still works, but everything else is dead... then when I restart.... hybrid mode is off in the bios...

I finally got a tech that says he "wrote an email the heads, and explained all the problems I am having" and the fact that 5 motherboard replacements have been done... he said he will contact me back monday or tuesday.

I hope he has some good news, if he pushes back... reading this thread it might be a good idea to email Mike Dell.

Its such a nice looking computer, but under the hood.... what garbage...sigh

When I go to a graphically intensive web-page and scroll up-down quickly for a bit, this is what my DPC latency looks like.

It doesn't do this if im using the 9400. Ive tried multiple ATI driver revisions as well. I'm also using the native W7 SATA drivers.
