Honestly, I don't even know who they are...that's a reason in my mind to avoid them.

I've never heard of them either, unless they have exceptional prices and are worth taking a gamble on, why not just buy from a more trusted company?

you can try xVx, i dont know what system you are looking for, but i know that xVx have very low prices, they have clevo base systems.

There reseller ratings is pretty good compare to m-tech http://www.resellerratings.com/store/xVx_Corporation

Over at Notebookforums.com, they are well known over there.

Hi, so this may sound like a shill response from a 1st time poster who will probably never post again.... ;) but I just found your forum while following the Ziosys "My Marketing Will Dominate Your Face" saga. We purchased 2 M-Tech systems Model D750W about a year and a half ago(?) and have been very pleased with them. From following your links I think that this is a rebranded Prostar 7096 Prostar Page

We have been very pleased with their performance. In addition 1 had to be serviced because it got wet. That was obviously not covered by the warranty but the repair charge was VERY reasonable considering they could have charged us an exorbitant amount considering the cost of the laptop $2500(ish) and the short amount of time we owned it before the wetness happened.

I would not hesitate to buy from them again.

When the laptop came back from service it had a Prostar sticker on it which at the time I thought was the company that did their repair service. After looking at your site I would now infer that we : Sent the laptop back to M-Tech who then sent it back to the original manufacturer Prostar for repair service. Prostar probably sent it back directly to us but all of our dealings were with M-Tech.

I bought a 900T from M-Tech in Oct. 2006. I was looking for a desktop replacement with little consideration for weight. My budget was $3,000. I researched this site, other sites, and friends. I chose M-Tech believing at the time that I could receive the most bang for my buck.

It was hard finding credible information on them due to their small size. I flipped the coin and purchased.

I have had no problems with the system and am happy for my decision. In the future I may buy a lighter animal to tote around for my business. I would make one change though. M tech's sister company is Prostar computers. (http://www.pro-star.com/) My computer came from them. I live in the Los Angeles area and Pro Star is in the outer area. I would go directly with Pro Star only because of 'Why go through a middle man if I can go direct?'

I'd be happy to answer any of your questions regarding M Tech/ProStar.

I think both just sell rebranded versions of the Clevo desktop replacement notebooks.

3 of 4 desktop replacement lappies nowadays are rebranded clevos =P

Also, look at Alienware and possibly Voodoo. (Voodoo is up there in the prices, but 3500 ought to net you something worthwhile!)

If you can stand the convoluted ordering process and a little risk you'll get a very fast system with decent support. There are a lot of Clevo stuffers out there so it's a tough market but, they seem to do their best.
