Hello I am going to college next year and needed to get a laptop. I've been looking at mainly a NP8650 but can't really decide between resellers. The eurocom m5 pro seems like a better deal as paying with CAD and the 10% student brings what I want to about 1170. However I've been browsing this forum and saw some negative customer service responses and it seemed Xoticpc was a bit safer of a choice. However to get the same specs of the eurocom m5 pro it'll be around 1380 which is about 200$ more ( They say on there website they price match but I don't know if the CAD payment discount would go over very well).

Also some just generic question about this laptop ( NP8650), I was wondering if anyone knew the response time for the ips monitor. As well as anyone with this laptop in college how is the overall portability and would upgrading to the 980M version be worth it?

I would trust Xotic, Malibal or Reflex any day ovet Eurocom. That said, $200 is a significant difference.

I can't speak for Eurocom, but I've had nothing but excellent service from XoticPC.

Both are quite decent in my opinion, though I do trust xoticpc over eurocom.

Only experience with eurocom is when I purchased a 7970m mxm card off them from eBay. Slow postage, but the item was well packaged. Cant comment on aftersales support though.

If you are still looking, Eurocom offers students a 10 per cent discount.

So how did you make out? Which company did you order from? I'm in the same boat with the Sager 8651/Clevo 650, either take the 10% off and CAD exchange through Eurocom, or pay more for XoticPC... laptop will be shipped to NY.

I recommend you get it from HIDevolution their customer service is superb! I ordered an Alienware Area 51 2 weeks ago and they started gathering the parts and all, then I read how bad it is in terms of not being able to upgrade it since it has a proprietary motherboard and due to BIOS issues it cannot accept 3 VGA Titan X or 980 Ti in SLI only the older 980 GTX so I emailed them to cancel the ordered and they canceled it without charging me a penny for the hassle I caused them and refunded all my money. Their prices are much cheaper than XOTIC PC as well
