    Hi There,

I'm looking to buy a new laptop for around the 1500NZD range (preferably less than 1600 if anything). The main use of the new computer will be heavy coding and a lot of uni work so it needs to be lightweight and quite portable. Something quite premium feeling would be nice too (mac book style? hp spectre style? etc.)

    Wanted Specs:
14 - 16 inch screen (15.6 in other words basically)
    full hd screen or more
    minimum processor: i5
ram can fluctuate but more than 4gb
rest the specs can be left to you to determine

Edit: A long battery life is essential

For a battery champ, Acer Swift 5's the answer.

Good specs for its price, with i5 and 8 gigs of RAM, has Full HD 14" display with thinner bezels. It's pretty light and portable at ~1.4kg. However it does not have Thunderbolt 3.

I think most people around here are not from NewZealand, so they've no idea what that gets you. Plus, I've gathered in my time here notebooks in that part of the world are much more expensive. You may wish to consider the FAQ stuck at the top of this forum and post back. That would help us sharpen your focus. Good luck and welcome to NBR.
