Looking For Replacement Everyday Use Notebook

    1) What is your budget?

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?

    Watch movies, Microsoft Office Suite, Web browsing, Email, Word, Excel Youtube/Netflix.

    7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?

    8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? (If so, please state which games or types of games?)

    9) How many hours of battery life do you need?
    At least 8 hours.

    10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?
    Both are fine.

    11) What OS do you prefer? Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Chrome OS, etc.
    Windows 10. Preferably to reduce cost, no OS with device.

    720P is fine.

    13) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen? (See further below for explanations.)
    Prefer Matte but not mandatory.

    Build Quality and Design

    14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
    No but need solid build quality in case of drop.

    Notebook Components

    15) How much hard drive space do you need?
    128GB (Prefer 256) SSD. No HDD.

    Timing, Warranty and Longevity

    16) When are you buying this laptop?
    No rush

    17) How long do you expect to use this laptop?
    5-10 years

    18) How long could you afford to do without your laptop if it were to fail?

    19) Would you be willing to pay significantly extra for on-site warranty, or would it be acceptable to you to have to ship the laptop to the vendor for repair with perhaps a week or more outage?
    Do not mind waiting for repair.

    Try a Lenovo ThinkPad E590 or an L590. Those are business-class notebooks with good quality. You might need to wait for some sales as your budget is pretty limited.

    You can get a full-size keyboard on a 14-inch notebook, which will be easier to carry around. For a number pad, you'll need a 15.6-incher.

    Avoid the very cheapest notebooks like the HP G-series and the Dell Inspiron 3000 series. They're not built to last.
