    General Questions

    1) What is your budget? Under $2,000. Prefer under $1,500.

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?
    a. Ultraportable; 10" - 12" screen
    c. Thin and Light; 13" - 14" screen
    d. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
    e. Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen
    D or E

    3) Which country will you buying this notebook?
    USA

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
    a. Like:
    b. Dislike: Apple- want something with gaming laptop speed and had a slow MacBook previously. Also probably no Lenovo because I want a good warranty.

    5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?
    Redistributed yes, refurbished no

    6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
Heavy web browsing, streaming video, some Excel, probably some music recording/arranging

    7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?
Using around house. Can keep plugged in likely all the time. Would bring if traveling but mostly only use plugged in.

    8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? (If so, please state which games or types of games?)
    Not likely

    9) How many hours of battery life do you need?
    Not many

    10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?
Prefer to see a model in store or have option to return. I get headaches from using the computer and would prefer something that has a more square display portion even if the screen itself is 16:9. There is a Micro Center near me I can visit.

    11) What OS do you prefer? Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Chrome OS, etc.
    Windows. Don't want a Mac

    Screen Specifics

    12) What screen resolution(s) would you prefer? (See further below for explanations.)
Standard 1920x 1080. Prefer 16:10 or 3:2 but not many options and don't want a Mac.

    13) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen? (See further below for explanations.)
Not sure. Will be doing a lot of reading so probably matte.

    Build Quality and Design

    14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
Not really. Prefer nothing outlandish. No red keyboards

    Notebook Components

    15) How much hard drive space do you need?
512gb SSD. Don't expect to store games

    Timing, Warranty and Longevity

    16) When are you buying this laptop?
Hopefully in the next 3 weeks

    17) How long do you expect to use this laptop?
Hoping for 5-7 years though if it gives me 3 good years that'd probably make me happy enough.

    18) How long could you afford to do without your laptop if it were to fail?
    3 weeks

    19) Would you be willing to pay significantly extra for on-site warranty, or would it be acceptable to you to have to ship the laptop to the vendor for repair with perhaps a week or more outage?
Shipping should be ok. Would prefer to not need repairs

    ==========
    END COPY

Please state any additional features you need. It's also helpful if you can indicate how experienced you are with computers.

Must have 16 GB RAM and refresh rate over 60hz
Will want to purchase extended warranty plan
Want the computer to be fast, run cool, and last a long time, happy to sacrifice weight and pay for effective cooling design
Skeptical that a U processor would be sufficiently fast
Don't need a great graphics card, just enough for >60 hz

I would be a novice with computers, I have never done any modifications such as installing additional RAM or a SSD.

    Thank you very much!
