Even 1535 is working at only 20% whilst comparing Windows. Still will take years to get flawless support for 1535 just like Win 10. 1550 should be supported on most Linux distros.

    Killer Wireless-AC 1550 Review

At first it was a horrible WLAN card. After 6 months with driver updates, it's a bit better. I wouldn't upgrade what you have if you care about better signal. This offers you nothing more that you'd be able to really benefit from.

If you did wanna upgrade, get the Intel AC9260. It's the same card but minus the Killer bloatware. Like if you have the Killer 1550 the Windows Store will now automatically install the Killer Performance App for you which is supposed to limit bandwidth from certain apps and prioritize bandwidth. Who needs that when we have super fast internet anyway! I want all my apps to have the full bandwidth when they need it!

Thank you! Yes no need for more bloatware and especially limiting apps on its own. I looked at the AC9260 while ordering my laptop and considering which upgrades to get now or later. I read that several people disliked the Killer software anyway and like you said, many were getting worse signal with the new cards. I had wondered since it has MIMO and all, if it would benefit my as my Asus RT-AC3100 router has MIMO and beamforming and all that. But it looks like as you say I don't need all the extra fluff that goes with it, and certainly don't need a weaker signal. Will stick with what I have

Well I get to show my stupid side now. I was wrong: My laptop has the Killer 1435 card in it, not the 1535. They just shipped it and I looked on the invoice and saw that. I've seen so many numbers and parts over the last week my head is spinning! o_O
