Has anyone here run into Input/Output errors when attempting to access Windows 10 files/ folders from Live boot USB ?
Any impressions as to whether it's a possible NTFS, or driver issue ? Or more likely possible hardware related?

    Any experienced advice appreciated

    Thank you

Ntfs-3g driver is included with most distros latest ISOs. Check if Bitlocker or any drive encryption is preventing R/W access.

    What are the errors exactly?

I don't think He enabled any disk encryption, but he may have run some unknow utilities on it (84 year old father in-law), but thank you for the suggestion.

I made the cardinal error of not taking a screen shot, but I will be trying a diff Linux distro soon and if I get same error I will definitely grab it.

Check out Elementary OS or Linux Mint. Also verify the checksum or hashes, if possible use a torrent since file corruption will be almost NIL on a torrent anyway.
