HI all, looking for a good laptop mostly for web browsing. should be small enough to take around the house or in a backpack, but fast enough to handle many open tabs without crashing. Under $600 would be good. I do not really want a tablet type, as we already have an ipad. There seem to be a lot of choices and I am having a hard time narrowing it, so any suggestions are welcome.

I want to be able to use Microsoft office as needed, and am pretty used to windows, so a chromebook is probably not the best choice.

we do not need dvd, or tons of port choices.

Prefer something fairly light and thin if possible -3lb range would be good.

    no games.

    4 or so is fine

Most notebooks sold directly from the manufacturer outlet, Dell, HP and Lenovo all have them, are returns offered with a nice discount. As long as it's not marked scratch and dent, it should look and perform like new. Given than your budget is somewhat small, this seem like the way to get the best bang for your buck.

If it were my money I'd look at something like the Dell Latitude 5490 with 1080p IPS screen from the Dell Outlet. It's a good all-around notebook, which it seems like what you're looking to get. Latitude support is excellent as well.
