Ryzen U-class CPU should hv no problem fitting into the GRAM chassis.
Lenovo had released a IdeaPad range with very slim profile 1 or 2mm little thicker than what LG GRAM had achieved. So... it's up to how LG Computers Engineers design the internals, to fit into their GRAMs.

The part about it that would make me sad is they probably wouldn't spend the money on adding Thunderbolt support, which would be a deal breaker for me.

They could at least offer a higher end one with TB3. I'm still under 90 day warranty. So thinking of waiting it out and returning mine if lg doesn't come out with one before then. That 16:10 screen is too good for productivity.

I doubt they will launch the next iteration until early next year. They seem to be on a yearly cycle of doing it sometime between Jan-Apr. Never know I guess!

Hmmm... High performance H-class CPU in a regular not so High-performance demanding system with moderate battery size...
No matter how i see, that ENERGY GUZZLER @ average 45w TDP is not going to get a fully charged battery to serve any user to last for a full 8 working hour day. Not to mention if it comes 3inches bigger on screen.
