Bootable CD to update bios for All LG laptops: (I don't know if it applicable in all countries, but I live in Saudi Arabia so at least it applicable for all middle east & maybe Europe)

    Code:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/147516968/LGBIOS08.rar
Extract the contents and burn the image "LGBIOS08.iso" file with nero or any burning tool using a blank CD.

    ....
Warning: I'm not responsible for any damage .....etc
This bootable cd IS not user friendly! because its NOT for the public.
But actually it somewhat easy to follow..

It worked for me like this:
I choose the first choice. << since the laptop have internal DVDRom

this the second screen so I just typed: LG <<uppercase.

after that it asked for the Model name or SN number << you can find it in a sticker under the laptop.

    ...

    New versions here:

The update fixed a problem for me (to correctly recognize SATA HDD that have a capacity above 160GB)..
nothing more (I notice the Intel logo has changed)
I don't recommend to update the bios unless you have a problem.

Hi again, I checked all the versions.. and it seems the one "new" you got on your disc is the one already in my p300 :) so no need to update it seems.

    Hi!!

I updated my LG P1, actually has the RKYWSF33 version but the bios is still recognize 3.2Gb (When It has 2x2Gb) and only 137Gb of a 320Gb hard disk.

I think that there's a bios option to fix the hard disk problem. I see an option called 'SATA' and it has 2 options: Enchanced and Compatibility. Now, Enchanced option is selected.

I hope you can help me.

    Thanks!!!

    go here:
    http://www.48bitlba.com/

it seem that your laptop need either:1- Updated OS (I think you need at least xp-sp2 or higher)
2- Updated bios (since you have the latest, unfortunately your only hope is to get an updated bios as you must know that the cd I uploaded its now older by almost a year)
I'm now thinking LG want us to buy another one as I'm sure they know this situation very well..
seriously, this is the only thing I hate in LG laptop.

I'm not sure, I think it's an old tool maybe cannot recognize sata drive at all.
so I recommend to ignore it at the moment.
if there any jumber in your HDD try to remove it.
also it seem that "137gb barrier" already an old problem which it must be solved now in all new system..
it's really strange to have it now.
I'm not expert in this situation, but I think it's time to go to the nearest LG customer service center.

one thing: Are the bios recognize the HDD at it's full capacity?
if yes, that mean it's not Bios bug problem. if no that mean you mostly waste your time by searching for a solution here, so go to LG CSC or contact the manufacturer.
