Okay guys, I received my Best Buy version of the Lenovo Y50 and honestly I'm impressed. All the bad viewing angle talk and keyboard flex talk had me worried. Yes the viewing angles aren't the best and there is keyboard flex, but I feel like it's only there when you try and find it. For me I set it up on my desk and in most scenarios the angle is just fine. Occasionally I'll stretch my back or move a bit and I can see there's a bit of wash, but it's only when I notice it, Sometimes I'll keep my back straight and it's doesn't occur to me that the colors just washed out until I go hunch again.

Long story short it's bearable like others have said.

From what I've read on this thread, the best buy version is not any different than the other reviews out there. The only perk for me is I can return it to a best buy if I end up not liking it within 14 days. I also get reward points because of this purchase.

    It's not bad.

It's definitely not IPS lol and I really doubt the Tiger Direct version is, but I'm still interested to get a conclusive answer.

I had the BB model. It's not IPS. Do you mean the TigerDirect model?

I forgot to add the BB model comes with a external optical drive that's USB powered. I don't know if the others are.

Secondly, I have Windows 8.1 Pro, should I do a clean install on it.
