    Sounds like there's a minor problem with the drive on reboots. See Restart Quirky with W520 and Intel 510 SSD - Lenovo Community

    Looks like the drive works fine for cold boots and shutdowns.

    Hi, I was wondering if there was any 10% off coupon, I also tried to buy the laptop through a rep, who apparently didn't get me any extra warranty discount

    Kingston 8GB Kit 1866MHz

    Model = KHX1866C11S3P1K2/8G

    Just installed in my W520 and it is clocking at 1866MHz, yeahhh!! :D :D

    Repeat... 1866MHz !!!

    CPU-Z shows 930.4 MHz,

    All SPD timing are JEDEC-Compliant, No XMP & No Overclocking I assume.

    Snap-shot of CPU-Z pictures attached.

    Gonna get one more pair from Buy.com, for a total of 16GB.

    Very good idea, I wish I'd thought of it. Unfortunately, I've already ordered and received the Crucial stick ($50). Now I'm just waiting for a laptop to put it in! Thanks though.

    I've already ordered 8 GB of the 1333 RAM... can anyone actually notice a real-world performance improvement with 1866 MHz RAM over 1333? If so, what is the difference? Would it be worth selling off my 8GB of RAM for the upgrade?

    Awesome! I have 16GB that should be here tomorrow. I wil confirm all 4 SO-DIMMs run at that speed, but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't. Thanks for letting us all know!

    As a note, my W520 came with BIOS version 1.21 and it is not available on Lenovo website for download.
    So just in case anyone not able to run the RAM at 1866MHz, then you may need to install this newer BIOS.

    Great work! I ordered 4 sticks this morning. Now Intel needs to get the 310 80GB out to stores by May 2nd and we're good! For those that get RAID, you can get the black Asus slim external blu-ray burner. I'll post the model # later tonight.
