Where you from and what was your custom order?
A couple days ago mine said it’ll ship on the 27th of March and arrive 2nd April. Ok so after reading these push backs. I check mine. It’s now ship 30th April. Delivered 7th of May.
I had a basic config. No windows. 256gb ssd. 2070.
How can their be a delay in what I’m asking for is besides me. I’d of ordered it barebones if I could and it prob still be couple months.
No point waiting this long. I may wait it out and wait for 9th gen with a discount code and send it back.

Mine got also delayed! Yesterday the shipping was planned for 20th of March and now is 30th of April. No-DOS, 32GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 2060. This is insane!

I rang up. They told me one metal part is what they waiting for. I’m assuming it’s the part that covers the ram up. Can’t be hhd metal case cos I ain’t order a hhd lol. Either that or they lying.
    Either way not pleased

Im in the US here, I have called Lenovo every week since I ordered and they never give me any information, just keep saying that they will reach out to the manufacturing warehouse to find out why there is a delay and then let me know, they never let me know though

Respectable battery life in gaming laptops are few and far between.

    Razer Blade
    Aero 15
    GS65

    Maybe that new Triton 500?

Perhaps I’ll give that a go next if the y740 sells.

Question about the power usage: both versions come with a 230w power brick but isn't that kinda overkill for an RTX 2060 / 2070MQ? Don't most laptops with these specs come with a 180W? Does that mean they could come out with a bios update and increase the power limit for the GPU?

Yeah I’m really looking forward to the Triton it seems like it might be a hit. Only issue is the price. Even for the three you’ve noted, here in Canada those are really expensive. The Y740 has good discounts.

Don't me stop you from buying the y740. We all wish the battery was bigger. If it works for you then go for it!

Here's a few reasons why this isn't happening.

The RTX cards throttle earlier at 87c (some laptops are very close to this stock)
The heatsink is shared between the CPU and GPU. The 8750h is really hard to tame and pushing more power to the GPU will increase CPU throttling just from heat transfer alone.

I saw this coming as soon as the TDP numbers were released for RTX desktop GPU's. Cramming these into something that can't breathe well meant we will most definitely see a great deal of variation on GPU performance compared to Pascal.

115w variant of the 2070 is a savage little beast for example.
