If you have FN + Q now, that should have been the only way to enable/disable the extra 10W.
Max fan is tied to the 90W TDP on mine. Kinda nice u always get 90 as it doesnt need max fan except for the cpu.

Also I expect it is just the Vantage software forcing the update?

I uninstalled Vantage and have never been prompted to update bios since.
    Windows can update freely.

    Im on 1.07, I have 8th gen with 2070maxq.

Anyone lose control of GPU power draw? Mine used to draw 90W on performance mode. Now regardless of performance or balanced mode, it will not draw more than 80W which is a huge performance hit. Any ideas?

    Edit:
Tried both latest bios 1.08 and the one before it 1.07

Are you getting 90W on GPU? (You can verify with HWinfo64)
If so, what driver version are you on? What BIOS? i7 9750H? Thanks!

Yes i can get 90W (and more) with performance mode.

I use hotfix version 445.78 and on latest bios version

My VR VCC temp sometimes reach 90+ degrees celcius... Is that normal? How can i lower the VR VCC temp?

Does the new driver include max-q boost in "Manage 3d settings"?

Previous driver that introduced it was buggy, it once unlocked the 90w tdp without enabling max fans, havent been able to reproduce since.

Can you post a pic of the 3d application settings(center-most options)

Also, which hardware you on? 8th gen ot 9th gen cpu??

    8th gen on bios 1.07 u gotta press "FN+Q".

No "Max-Q Boost" in 3D settings on latest driver version (both 445.75 and 445.78)

Ah you are RTX 2070MQ? I believe this issue is only for the RTX 2060 (for now anyways)

"Laptops which allowed higher power by the notebook manufacturer (eg. Lenovo Legion Y740) were reduced to a lower wattage. This is indeed a bug and has been fixed. This fix will be in our next driver available soon." -Official Nvidia Representative

This is great news, I'm super happy about this, thanks to the Nvidia team for looking into this and patching the error.
