Speaking of which, can anyone with a Ryzen 4000 mobile based laptop check the PCI-E link speed of the gpu using GPU-Z? I've heard and read that the reason why ryzen mobile laptops never got a gpu faster than the RTX 2060 is because Ryzen 4000 mobile only has a x8 PCI-E link to the gpu and Nvidia didnt want to allow faster gpus to be used on the x8 PCI-E link.

Run a graphical load like unigene heaven to get the gpu out of idle and then take a screenshot of GPU-Z.

Here you go. Ran Unigine Valley on the Dell Inspiron 5505 (Ryzen 7 4700U), best performance mode.

EDIT: Also ran the test on the T14 with Ryzen 5 Pro 4650U, best performance mode.

It's indeed limited to x8 speed. But this is not the main reason as x8 speed is still plenty even for highest end mobile GPU.

Yes I'm well aware of that.

But the fact remains that NVIDIA will not sell anything faster than a 2060 to be used in ryzen 4000 mobile laptops because they only have a PCI-E x8 link

    I'm on a Legion Y740-17 (i7 9750H, RTX 2080 Max-Q). I'm very happy with this laptop.

Would the Legion 7-15 (i7 10750H, RTX 2080 Super Max-Q) be a very insignificant upgrade? I'm tempted by going 15 inch for more portability.

    Nice!.

Unfortunately the legion 5P wont be sold here in the USA but the 1660ti models are now available on Amazon

    https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-1920x...aming+laptop+amd+1660ti&qid=1598642841&sr=8-3

Also the AMD 4600H/1650ti are back in stock at walmart!
    https://www.walmart.com/ip/Lenovo-Legion-5-R5-GTX-1650Ti-8GB-256GB-1TB-Gaming-Laptop/627433588

Its not worth it plus there are problems with temperatures with the Legion 7 atm.
