The Lenovo S740 is starting to be sold.
In my country it goes for 950€ with 8gigs of ram and one of those nifty Iris Plus i5s.

I've only managed to find one review on it so far from laptop media (https://laptopmedia.com/review/leno...at-features-but-disappoints-with-performance/) which is quite extensive. It looks, however, like the machine overheats. I think a combination of repasting + throttle stop could make it into a really nice powerful ultraportable.

I will be buying the machine next week and posting more information about it since there is not that much information about it. I just checked it out at a store and I have to say that the build quality is amazing. I downloaded a few benchmarking programs and such on a test version they had set up.

I'm getting the following SKU for 920€:
    Intel® Core™ i5-1035G4
    8gb of Ram
    512 SSD

Here are a few of the things that I want to find out in regards to this machine:
    1) Ram set up
The machine in the store had 8gigs of usable ram and the iGPU had 4GB of "shared" memory. I was not able to figure out if it was set in dual channel, I also want to mess with the BIOS to see if changes can be made to the iGPU.
    2) Undervolting & repasting
So, like always, the machines themal compound was applied by a monkey. Even in Lenovos own video for removing the themral heatspreader it looks horrible. So I wanna see how much better I can get the temps by undervolting + repasting with some quality thermal paste.
