    Hi everyone)
I want to replace cpu in my old G570. Now there is i3-2350M. Few months ago I bought i7-2860QM, but as my laptop have locked bios (and it's locked with key, which is possible to generate in other ways) I couldn't boot it after cpu replacement. I need to reset bios to make it work, but as it doesn't have regular CMOS battery it's not that easy to do.

What I want to know is placement of solderd CMOS battery to shorten contacts via booting to reset bios which will allow to change CPU.

I know that my current cpu is 35W and i7 is 45W, but I find others who done it and it worked pretty good. Also I can do some tweaks with throttlestop and if needed replace regular paste with liquid metal.

Тhanks in advance for your reply :)

You shouldn't short the CMOS battery, much less short it during boot, when the laptop motherboard charges that battery..

Better to get an unlocked BIOS than to short the battery during boot(doubt that would even do anything at all, because during boot the NVRAM is being powered by the AC/main battery, so shorting the CMOS battery wont do a thing.

I just searched for Lenovo G570 CMOS battery, this was the first result:
    https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-B-and-G-Series-Notebooks/G570-boot-problem/td-p/2057075

    Its on the motherboard backside.
