I have a W510, circa 2010. I recently bought a cheap Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. When I plug the dongle into the either of the two left side USB ports the Lenovo will not complete boot. It hangs before entering windows7. If I boot without the dongle in either of the two left side ports and then put it in after the boot completes the logitech keyboard and mouse will work with the dongle.

I can boot the laptop with the dongle plugged into the back. But only the keyboard works and not the mouse.

I read somewhere suggesting that maybe it is hanging if the boot order has the usb drive first because it is expecting an OS on it. The USB is not first. Boot order is: ATAPI CD0 > ATAHDD0 > PCI LAN > -USB HDD. So I don't think the boot order setting is causing the boot problem. I don't know what is causing the boot problem and don't know what is causing the wireless mouse to not work on the rear USB port, but work on the side port.

Have you tried disabling USB legacy support in the BIOS?
