I have a D630 with nvidia nvs135 and it dont show nothing on the screen, i tried to replace hdd, i disassambled the RAM and put it back, i tried to connect it to a lcd monitor none works.
The display/s are working, but its just a iluminated black screen, even the bios does not loads.
I think that the gpu is the problem, could i replace the gpu with a 8400 from a MSI notebook ?
and some disassamble guides would be good..:D

    LE: i found the guides
So remains the question: Whats the problem ?

I would say a faulty GPU, or more precisely some of the GPU soldering joints have cracked because of the heat.

You can try this to fix it but there is no guaranty for it to work :)

or the oven trick. There is a tutorial about this in the forum somewhere.

That's the nVidia 86xx GPU under another name and they were flawed from birth. You can read more here. It's just a matter of time and usage until they die.

Dell added some extra warranty time to many of the potentially affected notebooks so I suggest that you first contact Dell and see if your D630 is still under the (extended) warranty.

If that is unsuccessful then I would search ebay for a D630 motherboard with Intel graphics. Then swap over the CPU and other components.

You can start by putting the service tag into Dell's support site. This should list the hardware configuration as sold and the warranty period.

Here is Dell's statement about adding an extra 12 months to the normal warranty period.

If you think you are still in warranty coverage then you can contact Dell Romania. You may need to go through a process of proving ownership or it may be enough to advise the name of the original owner.

Those dates mean that the computer is still in warranty so Dell should fix it for you.

Dell is represented in Romania who should be able to do the work for you (they just look in the same database to see the warranty coverage). However, you may need to demonstrate that you are now the legal owner of the computer.
