I've already tried that; repeatadly pressing F2 immediately after pressing the power button results in the machine just sitting at a black screen forever, until I hit the power button to turn it off. If I DON'T hit F2 during boot, the machine boots into the Windows 10 sign-in screen, just like normal (prior to that, the screen is black for about the exact period of time the Predator logo would be displayed).

Re-installing the FHD screen results in completely normal behavior, meaning the Predator logo appears for a few seconds, then the Windows 10 sign-in screen. FYI; I have "Fast startup" disabled in Wimdows 10.

    Thanks for your answer!
But I have a 6th gen core i7, could I assume that is not compatible? Since it has support for Edp 1.3 and not Edp 1.4?

There may be a space in the BIOS for a boot logo for a different screen resolution that is empty. And, yes... sometimes laptops will need a BIOS mod (EDID added or tweaked) for a screen swap, depending on the screen being installed and how retarded the people that built it were. It is unfortunate that laptop engineers frequently do stupid things with firmware, but that kind of nonsense is status quo now.
