Upgraded a Precision M90 from a LP171WX2 to a LTN170U1-L01, it was a drop-in replacement, no different LVDS cable or inverter required in my case.

Hi, is a touchscren display come with the touchscreen embedded (like no "glass panel" that the brand glue on the display assembly) ?
If so, does the signal pass trough the eDP cable ?
    Also if I have a 4 lanes eDP 1.2/1.2a, I am able to have a 3840x2160 60hz display ? according to wikipedia, 4 lanes eDP 1.2 got 21.60 Gbit/s of bandwidth while a 3840x2160 60hz display would need a link of 14.93 Gbit/s of data bandwidth for 8 bit color and 17.92 Gbit/s for 10 bit color.
Do someone know any good (or less than 200 bucks) 17.3" 4k 60hz display that have a very good color accurency and gammut and which is IPS ? it seems like there is no many choice according to panelook (does they list all the existing lcd ?)
    Thanks a lot

Does anyone know if HP whitelists their panels?

I'm trying to upgrade a HP Zbook 15 G2 from the 3200x1800 (QHD+) panel I have to a full 4k panel. I get backlight but no picture.

Original panel model is the LQ156Z1JW03B, and I ordered a LQ156D1JW02 and tried it. I get backlight but no display. The computer still functions with the panel in as I've tried it with another monitor hook up via displayport as well.

I'm wondering if I should try the LQ156D1JW06 instead?

    Thanks for your help!

You might need a different eDP cable.

I've checked that, and because the laptop came with the QHD panel it has the right 40 pin cable already.

Anyone know if a AW 17 R1 with a 40pin eDP connector can take a 4K or 1440P panel? Mine already has a 120HZ 3D panel in it atm.

    Hi there,
The gigabyte aero 15-X9 let us choose between a FHD 144hz (LG LP156WFG-SPF2) panel and a 4K 60hz (AUO B156ZAN03.1) with a wider gamut which is ranked #1 display panel on notebookcheck, which I would be looking for for photo editing.

Lets say I have the FHD 144Hz panel one.
Could we assume we could switch it with the AUO 4K panel without issues (brightness control or compatibility)?

If so, pushing it further ... if I don't want to pay the premium from gigabyte brand and package, I see Lenovo uses the same FHD LG display 144hz panel in their Legion laptop line up that start under 1K$.
Can I assume the same if we try to switch the panel with the 4K one ?

As edp pin layout should be the same with the first assumption (I have been searching for datasheets and could only find the AUO one, luckily maybe the Aero uses both panel) the only caveat would be the whitelist thing I guess ? Could there be issue with the display driver on the motherboard or else ?
