The issue with Y520 is the heatsink being badly designed.

I took a look at my friend's 1050ti/7700hq model and tried to repaste it.

With the stock heatsink, contact is pretty good and before the repaste temps are acceptable.
The issue lies with a large gap between the fan and the fins, the air leaks out and helps to "cools" the surrounding area and components inside the computer.
But when you look at the layout, GPU is farthest away from fins (longer heatpipe = less efficient thermal transfer) and receives the circulating air as primary means to help it cool down, but that means the more efficient your heat transfer is, the hotter the circulating air to help the GPU out.

Overall temp is much higher if you measure after stabilization (15-20 minutes of gameplay).

I also tried to close the gaps between the fins, didn't work. It's designed (probably by mistake) that the heastink needs circulating air to maintain ok temps.

Also the trackpad drivers just completely rapes power efficiency and introduces excessive input delay + smoothing.

Ok thanks. Any other laptops comes to your mind that fits OP's range?
I was inclining towards Y520 and dell 7567. Any MSI laptops with 1050 or 1050Ti? Too many models confuse me ie, GS,GL,GP etc...

In India, we don't get Clevo. Search at www.flipkart.com or www.amazon.in

@Mobius 1 Please read the OP and tell me according to the Indian market. I have mentioned the sites where we usually buy laptops from.

You'll pay import taxes and jacked prices if you buy from official retailers in your country.
Impossible to get anything that's decent under your price point.

The person that I just tagged can sell you Clevo laptops.

Also can be specially exempted from taxes and customs, if applicable.
