    Hello,

I have a really old Lenovo E49 laptop (i3-3110M CPU, 2x4GB 1333Mhz RAM, Hitachi 500GB HDD, Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics, Windows 10 Pro). Recently due to fairly high temps, I decided to clean out the laptop and apply some fresh thermal paste and clean out the fans and all; I've done this tons of times before so I KNOW I haven't gone wrong anywhere. After booting, the fans started running on full speed for some reason and doesn't go down even on idle. The temps are safe, everything is running fine, no new "suspicious" softwares or updates installed and I rechecked every connection too after opening it up again. It isn't really a super bad issue for me but the constant noise and vibration is pretty irritating especially when I'm using it on my lap.

I am going to get a new laptop once Intel 8th-gen mobile chips and NVIDIA Volta are released so until then I'll have to make do with this :/ .

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Consumer Volta is likely at least 7-8 months away since Jensen said it wouldn't come for at least a year (that was 3-4 months ago)
