Killer has an exe that does that now I believe, though getting an intel card and not having to do it in the first place is preferable for most end users.

Yes I know it's the Killer Software Uninstaller

But as you mentioned, I'd rather not have to deal with this to start with.

    1) I have never heard that they won't do an upgrade if it works.

    2) I got mine from HIDevolution and installed it myself but you can also get it from Amazon

What!? So that basically kills the whole consumer-side point of UWPs, if UWPs aren't actually containerized and gated from the rest of the machine. Leaving behind useless registry entries is something I'd expect from a Win98SE shareware program, not a system that was supposed to compete with Apple's App Store.

Well it does leave behind registry entries and it does install the Killer Networking Service. Hence why you need a separate uninstaller. Just like you would when uninstalling an Anti-Virus. Still baffles me that at this day and age developers are too lousy to create a proper uninstaller that removes everything their app/driver has installed without the use of 3rd party apps like Revo Uninstaller or Geek Uninstaller. This is so 1996

Does the software only get auto installed if you use the windows store, or does it also install via the forced windows updates?

Windows Store only but Windows update does install the required driver for it. I can't remember what it's called

Thanks, I will keep this in mind if/when I upgrade. I normally don't use the windows store at all, but I do have a couple of games I might want to play before upgrading laptops just to never use it again :p
