Does anybody do anything different to keep the programs in the start menu organized? It always seems to add up and get cluttered and the list becomes impossibly long. Any advice?

I usually group the programs (eg. Multimedia, Microsoft, Utility, etc), just go to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs

and add folders, then move the link in start menu to desired folder. :)

If you're using Windows Vista or 7, just use the search function. On XP, I used to group my programs into categories (ie: Adobe, Web Browsers, etc) as described by crayonyes.

I haven't clicked "All Programs" in at least 6 months. :p Pin the most used programs to the task bar, second most used pinned to the start menu, and search for the rest. The necessity of the search is pretty rare if you allow it to store your recently used programs as well.

If you use the classic start menu, may god help you.
