Thanks for the heads up, I will def try this out tonight.

And I just installed the 11.8 CAP2, wasn't sure how much of a difference it would make, but I am going back to the Official 11.8 drivers from ASUS

i have also turned off crossfire for DX it seems to run smoother this way, making me want the a8 more

I have played on the big screen 42" Samsung in 1080 already, but my hdmi cable only goes so far and it's sorta awkward, my wireless keyboard doesn't keep up well enough, might be time for an upgrade... BTW did we confirm if this had Bluetooth or not???

Actually surprisingly enough I noticed a drastic improvement in the lateral tearing I saw in Deus Ex after making the cooling modifications. So yes I noticed a difference. But Deus Ex still is so damn glitchy, hopefully readjusting the AF will help as Disgustipated suggested...but sounds like you're talking about the banding issue, you need the bios update on Asus website

No I have not done this, but that sounds like a good next step, will report back to you when I give it a whirl...

FYI gumba, putting the pc in hibernate is enough to reset the fans to normal.

Still no word on whether an A8 will work though, right?

nothing yet, there's a guy in another thread thats going to try the a8-3530mx, gonna see how it turns out for him first before I make a purchase.

BTW Just got things setup for gaming last night with my 26" Sony Bravia, nice little upgrade from the lame ASUS screen. Running 1280x768 and looking pretty solid

Hello... I've bought this computer 2 weeks ago and the only problem i've seen so far is heat. I'm running a +- 83C in BF3 at high, no OC at all. I'd like to modify the stock heatsink. Do you think I'll be able to add a 5v fan directly over the cpu? like the red square on the picture? I found one on ebay with almost the same size as the cpu and only 6mm thick. thank you

Gumba or anyone who knows, I ordered a refurb K53ta-bbr6 but I just checked the model number on the bottom of it, says "K53TA-1BSX"

CPU-Z claims it has the 3400m with an HD 6500M series and I've got a sticker saying it's a 6720G2, so everything seems to be in order, still has me worried.

Should I assume it's just a code for it being a refurb? lol

Yes I've got the same thing than you. When I received the box I was like "! NOT THE RIGHT LAPTOP BLABLA.." I opened it and it was obviously the good one lol

Had that useless POS Bloatware Asus live update crash mid update and lost all the drivers, after re-installing them via the website, It claims to have 1.5gb of Vram off a 6520g

I emailed ASUS directly with the model and S/N.....
