    Laptop ASUS G513QY Advantage Edition:

So, last night I decided switch from LM (ThermalRight) to Paste (Gelid GC Extreme) and change the VRM/VRAM from Gelid Thermal Pads Extreme to K5 Pro, to ensure pads (Even at 0.5mm) doesnt prevent full pressure of chamber due to thickness.

    Results:

    Testing: FireStrike
    Mode: Turbo

    Temps with LM:
    GPU Die Max: 70-80c
    GPU HostSpot Max: 103c
    CPU Core Max: 90c

    With Gelid GC Extreme:
    GPU Die Max: 80c
    GPU HostSpot Max: 95c
    CPU Core Max: 95.6c

So I lost on CPU but gain pretty fine on GPU, I Would stick to it, and can easily cap CPU temps via Crate PPT and Ryzen Controller.

For example CPU-Z 3 minutes stress test with LM CPU Core was hitting max 80.7c and now goes straightforward to 95.6c, same as this guy's:

I guess I should just accept hotter CPU and be happy with cooler GPU ?

Question..... if I decide try check if cpu pasted properly, open chamber will ruin my K5 pro and need redo all mosfits chokes and vram?

Hi, I would advise you to use the same gelid for VRM and VRAM. You should not need it theoretically but that depends on its application. Perhaps it was better to keep the metal liquid (if it was factory).

    Hey,

For VRM and VRAM I used thernal pads replacement, gummy paste similar to what asus used originally, I used K5 Pro. Since regular paste too liquid for VRM and VRAM.

For CPU and GPU I used Gdlid GC Extreme, it fixed gpu Hotspot from max 103c to 95c so good.

But CPU now max the thermal set limit i think, soon as you start cb23 or cpuz test, it goes 95.xc and stays there until test stopped.

Asus original LM was suck, cpu was 95-97c lol
Then when I changed asus LM to ThermalRight LM, CPU was cold but GPU was 103c hotspot at games and firestrike.

Now after I removed LM and placed gelid GC extreme, cpu goes right away to 95c soon as cb23 or cpuz test starts.

Same time gpu Hotspot temp fixed and firestrike and games goes max 95c zone, no more 103c.

So if i want open chamber to see maybe I missed some spot on CPU pasting, what's chances K5 pro will not break on VrM and Vram?

You don't need to clean and replace old K5 PRO. You just need to collect it on VRAMS and probably add a bit more. Important factor is to cover all surface with at least 1mm layer.

What you mean collect on VRAM? Replace on VRAM and on mosfits/chokes just add on top to make 1mm thick?

When you place heatsink K5 PRO splits around the VRAMs. So using the wood stick you should collect it back on VRAM in order to create a 1mm layer.

Maybe you should place a bit more. If it didn't split around when you first applied it then it means that you didn't put enough and you should put more.

    Got it, will collect !

After I repasted my asus g513qy advantage edition laptop last weekend I realized, gpu like gelid gc extreme and Temps good, but cpu went 10-15c above, so gonna use LM for CPu (placed kaptone tape around die) and Gelid for gpu.

And redo whole k5 pro on vram and vrm :)

Maybe you should try KRYO33 for CPU . It is also developed by Computer Systerms and gives optimum results when combined with K5 PRO
