Hello everyone. I have that beast of a laptop ASUS published called ROG GL702ZC and the gooey thermal compount they had put between the vrms vram and those small chips behind the vrms (which i dont know the name of) needed replacement. I ordered some 0.5 and 1mm pads but in some of the places they didnt make good contact, especialy in the chips i mentioned that idk the name of. I did some research online since asus wouldnt reveal to me what they used for the components and i found out that there is this product called K5-PRO and its meant to replace thermal pads. Have you had any experience with the specific product in terms of application and thermals? And if you ever had experience on repasting/repading that specific model would also be helpful. Thank you in advance.

I use K5-PRO on video cards except for on their GPU dies (where I use Grizzly Kryonaut). I do not have to worry about the thermals because they do not get extreme, so I cannot speak to how good at thermals K5-PRO is exactly, but I can vouch that it is very convenient. K5-PRO is now in its second iteration, which is claimed to not dry over time. The first iteration, however, lasted for years for me before drying out.

Experiences of using the K5 Pro are published below the thread:

    https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?111503-GL504GW-K5-Pro-Thermal-Paste

The paste loses its properties within three months. The consistency changes and holes are formed inside. From my own experience, I can say that this is a really bad product. I've found the perfect one and I'm going to buy it. Unfortunately, it is quite expensive:

I plan to use this product in my ASUS GX701

That's the first time i have ever heard somebody refer to the ROG GL702ZC as a BEAST ahahah:)

The GPU's in that machine don't pull many watts at all, does it even need a repaste/repad, or are you just being OCD?
