Just upgraded to an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265

    I have 6230 in my laptop is there any other way to put.

    Great, thanks for the help. Updating the drivers is simply downloaing the 8265 drivers from Intel after I've put in the 8265 card right?

    You need a M.2 slot for the 8265, your current card is a mini PCIe. Does your laptop have any open M.2s?


    Yup. I'd go ahead and uninstall your old ones before installing the new card also

    What is the better way to update the driver? Simply use Device manager and update from there or uninstall first?

    Just update. Make sure you uninstall the buggy Intel Wireless PRO/SET app and only install the INF driver

    so how can I get only the inf driver from the Intel site? it appears that you can download only the exe that comes with the pro/set app

    I think you could just uninstall the pro/set app afterwards?

    if you uninstall the app it also uninstall the driver, at least so it seems
