title says it all, I need some stuff to "break in" my new Dell...I got the one with a 128 ATI card, and it has 1.25 GB RAM...

I've already played CSS, half life 2, and doom 3, other than that suggestions are open to any and all good games (though really involved RPGs that take up chunks of your life like its nothing aren't preferred, I don't want to begin living in my own computer world like I did 4 years ago with Diablo 2 :) )

I'm going to throw out a couple:

    1) Painkiller - One of my favorites. It's just pure, nonstop action, yet somehow loads of fun. Great stress relief, certainly all that keeps me sane during the school year. If gleefully killing things enlessly with overpowered weapons is "sane", lol.

    2) Area 51 - An excellent game, at least for the first half of it. Then your whole squad dies off and it kind of falls into Doom 3-style "hallway crawling", but it's still got some cool features and should run great on your computer.

my frend told me that painkiller multiplayer isn't that great and single-player mode gets boring after a while

I'm curious about the 128MB x300... How well does it run the games you tested, and at what quality levels?

    Preferrably:

    Half-Life 2/CS:S
    Call of Duty
    Unreal Tournament 2004
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
    Battlefield 2

Any of those will do, doesn't matter for all of them, mainly just to get a relative idea.

    Thanks a lot.
