Hi all, I am new to this forum. I got Asus ROG G703GX with i7-8750H and RTX 2080. I am getting worried at my screen. I am not sure if the bleed I see is actually a BLB problem or IPS glow. Please let me know what you think. Thank you for any input on this.

Typical Asus screen. But yours is either super bad or it’s a bad angle to take a photo. I’ve got GL704GW few days ago with much less screen bleed and requested screen change at the local Asus tech support center. We’ll see how that goes.

    Return it if you can.

That's a lot of bleed if it is bleed. Could just be a tight bezel too putting pressure on the screen, since it seems to be really exaggeratedly focused at the corners.

Thank you for the replies. I am thinking of returning it. This is my second asus laptop returned in back to back weeks due to backlight bleed. Previously I got Strix Scar II (RTX 2070) and had to return it due to bad backlight bleed. I am thinking if I should risk it one more time or just move onto another brand

Mine just arrived last night. There may be some visible light bleed but to me it doesn't look bad. Maybe because I've had a bunch of similar 17 inch ASUS laptops before.

I do notice some inconsistent backlight for a second while windows loads and switches to a blank screen but then after it loads up it looks fine. Also in game, I can't notice it (only tried Metro so far).

What's a good way to test this? Set brightness high or low and open a black 'picture'?

Got mine replaced and now it’s perfect. I have a feeling it has something to do with the way they sit it on that double tape.

I exchanged for another G703GX and that turned out to be worse. Everything else is good (performance, thermals, build quality)

Decided to return it and move onto different brand. I am not sure if this issue only applies to laptop sold in Best Buy stores? Even some of customer reviews in Best Buy website complain about screen bleed
