Is there a difference between the AW17R4 1070 and 1080 heatsinks?

    Also, if there is in fact a difference, which is better, and would it be possible to swap them for eachother?

    from the picture u posted in another thread, it looks like you are already using GTX 1080 heatsink

    yes, 1080 heatsink have ticker heatpipes... and runs hot because of the thermal paste and 3 screw design, BUT the heatsink dissipation is one of the best on markets.
    you should be really fine if you make a repaste with some thermal grizzly kryonaut

    I think the newer 1070's with 7820hk use the same heatsink as 1080 now.

    This was the case for a friend of mine who bought a 1070 machine this year.

    He repasted recently like 1-2 months ago. He's running at 980M stock clocks on 970M.
