    Currently I have a

    AW15 gtx1070
    MSi GS40 7700hq gt970m
    Asus UX331UN i7 8500u mx150

I love all of them, but Im considering selling the GS40 and upgrading the AW13, now the QHD isnt cheap, but it looks amazing on videos, is it really that awesome in real life?

    Yes.

I've have owned over 25 laptops (most high end and over half of the total in past 8 years). Can say it is the best screen by far.

I have sold 2 Alieware 13 OLEDs and regretted it. 1st wasn't powerful enough because it was the R2 with ULV CPU. 2nd, a R3, I sold because I had too many laptops, and Alienware has the best resale value outside of Apple and Razer.

Keeping my latest, bought on "Black Friday" sale indefinitely, because they may discontinue OLED in Laptops very soon for a few years as Samsung and LG can't be bothered to make any

It may not be 4k (but that's great) and well suited to the specs of a top-spec 13R3. Seriously though, go look at an ordinary AW13R3 and the bezel/frame,etc. Then compare it to an OLED model and it just feels significantly more premium and befitting of the brand/price you're paying. Everytime I walk past a non OLED model in the stores I look at it and think it looks 'cheap' in comparison.

The 13 OLED display is definitely worth it. I've owned 2 13s and two of my friends have 13s. All OLED. Highly recommended.

I have a 13r3 with OLED and it has been worth every cent, not to mention the touchscreen is useful if you have the laptop on your lap and the mousepad is at an awkward angle

OLED panel is beautiful, don't buy a 13 without it.

I sold my MSI phantom gs40, lovely machine.

But this OLED looks amazing even on 1080p video reviews.

Would I be missing the boat, meaning is something else soon to be released?

Do you love your OLED and would you recommend it?

This question is raised about every other month

Pretty much 80% of the AW 13 owners in this forum have the OLED. There really is no reason to get the AW 13 without it.

    Refer to this post:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/is-the-aw13-qhd-oled-screen-worth-it.813959/#post-10692289

As for something around the corner? Probably Cofefe Lake CPUs this Spring. Perhaps Nvidia Ampere by October

Would I wait? Hard to say... Samsung has stopped making the 13.3" OLED panel, and no one else is going to make them. When Dell's stock of them is sold; that is going to be it.

Who knows how many they have? And the AW 13 performance is more than good enough for AAA titles for a few years to come.

Im just worried the AW 13 r3 is about to get replaced or something?

How do you avoid static images like desktop icons with burn in, I know how to change the screen and remove tool bars etc, but desktop shortcuts dont change. Is the answer dont use them?

Its a big investment for me $3000 where I live. Im not working due a back injury, but I can afford to pay it off.

I just dont want to buy one and find out next month something bigger and better was released, so no rumours you guys are aware of?
