I got a zip file from a friend I trust. I extracted it but it stuck at 2% or 3% for very very long time while the zip file is only about 300MB, which is not very larg, however, when it got stuck, I can hardly do anything else, I can't cancel the extraction immediately, but it returns with frozen windows, that I need to CTRL+ALT+DEL to get to task manager or something to force to end the applications.

I'm sure that the file was created by my trusted friend that he is mature enough and will not send me virus for joke. It was probably because the file was corrupted during transfer.

After ending the applications, windows folders also have abnormality. It doesn't appear the name file name. On right clicking the mouse , the menu shows up but the text is gone.

Is it a sign of memory hardware failure? Or is it a sign of SDD drive failure? I am pretty sure that there is enough capacity left for the system to run. At least there are 30-40GB left always,

Or was it the application badly programmed? It's 7-zip but not winzip or winrar

Weirdly enough, a similar thing was happening to me, and in the end, it either came down to my memory, or my GPU and it being fried. lol

It might be RAM or SSD? Check SSD stats using crystaldisk info and check which driver you're using.

Did you verify the file was properly made before they sent it to you? Being stuck at low % would to me indicate corrupted download or file was not properly made nor verified before sending out.
