It should be a straight swap. I'd suggest getting the Hydis UXGA panel(13N7076) . It was the most common UXGA panel used in the T60. I think they did use some IDTech panels too, but they were left over from the T4x days. They will work, but the EDID needs to be flashed for it to work. You'd need a T4x or R5x to flash it. I've put the Hydis screen into a R60 and R60e. While not exactly the same as the T60, they're pretty close.

Also I was wondering if I could pull ram out of toasted R61i and use it? Both only have 1GB, if I could combine it to 2GB it would fit my needs. I already have a SSD (Gskill sniper) in the R61i I could probably swap that too.

    Try buying one from Lenovo.

The memory should be the same.

You could also try installing a QXGA IPS 2048x1536 panel.

    Model: IDTech IAQX10N or IAQX10S

Got it installed from link above and pretty happy. Has a bit of color shift like a PVA but it's 100x better than TN not quite like a NEC desktop monitor tho. Total for a "new" laptop was $405. $225 for laptop and $180 for IPS 1600 x1200.
