wow, according to this poll, 80% of the people voted hate the design. I hope Dell is looking at these forums and change something with the 1730.

This has got to be one of the flugiest laptop designs I've ever seen. Is Dell out of his mind? If that's truly the new m1730, they should keep the old design and simply update the components.

SWEEET! Not that it's high on my priority list, but I like how it looks. I'll probably get blue (although all four colors look nice.)

If this thing had an 8800 in it, it would be my dream system, but heck, I've been waiting over a year now, I may just bite.

What about liquid cooling? That's something that Alienware's already managed to integrate into a notebook. If Dell's newest and best gaming notebook still uses fans, it is sure to be trampled by competitors who are figuring out how to use liquid cooling. And with a dual graphics configuration in the minimal space of a notebook, the thing in itself will create global warming.

Edit: And wait! Where the heck is the VGA port?! They think they can get away with only a DVI? What if your monitor is VGA only... Well, I guess you're screwed, at least if you want to connect to your monitor (mind you, if it is a VGA only monitor, it probably isn't too great anyway), but still, what if you don't feel like dishing out for a real good monitor?

You know... I could be wrong, maybe I didn't see the VGA port. Anyways, you guys look for yourself at the laptop pics and verify if I am correct. (Apologies if I'm wrong!)

DVI ports almost always include an analog component to use with VGA adapters. That shouldn't be an issue (but I didn't buy the 1720 mostly because of the lack of DVI).

I don't want liquid cooling as it brings with it a bunch of issues I don't want to mess with.

Well, if none of you buy it, and m1330 sales continue to cripple supply they will surely listen.

Dell might not know design, but they know numbers.

heh...the dvi port in the definetly photoshopped picture is DVI-I (analog + digital) but its photoshopped. the USB ports aren't even straight.
