Hello there, (sorry if i posted this in the wrong section~)
I've been using an Intel X25M SSD (80GB) on my MacBook (mid-07) for around 6 months.

This is the second time the drive had failed, and i couldn't fix it this time.

The first time the drive failed, I could easily fix it by writing zeros on the drive, that went for 4 hours and it was back to normal again.

After another week of using it, it failed exactly the same way (I did a hard shutdown due to insane lag problems), and when i reboot... the drive is no longer readable.

The drive can be recognized both in Windows and Mac's Disk Utility, which is the same as what happened at the first time. This time, i can't even write zeros on the drive, it tells me that 'There is no such file or directory', and the drive automatically un-mounts itself.

Some info from Disk Utility about my drive:

I'm thinking of doing a low level format on the drive in Windows, and i am aware about the fragmentation problems that the Intel SSDs possess (only after it crashed.. ), and i know that intel had released firmware updates for the drive, which i cannot run, since my drive is being lame :(

I see many experts on this forum, and i hope that my problem would be solved soon!

    Many thanks,
    ~dXm

    No, just OS X..
Well, does running XP on a virtual machine (parallels) count? Same partition btw..

Defective product? It may be easier and more piece of mind to send it back to intel than try to fix it.
