I see lots of websites reporting the announcement but not a one with a review unit.

I reached out to my contacts at Rivet Networks about whether the Monday announcement was a paper launch or if the Killer AX1650 will soon be available to end users.

The reply I got stated that the AX1650 was already on it's way to Amazon in the US and would be listed when they received them at the warehouses.

So if you're interested in the Killer AX1650 keep an eye out on Amazon for the listing.

I upgraded my 13 R3 to a 9260 a few weeks ago and have a desktop with an older chip that I wanted to upgrade. Guess I will be waiting it out!

Which wireless router are you going to use with these wireless cards?

Your Intenet downloads and uploads will still be tied to your Internet service and the sites you are connecting to plus time of day,day of week,Internet traffic, your settings, channel selection etc.

The KILLER AX1650 is available on the US Amazon site for pre-ordering.

Amazon states the AX1650 will be available for shipping on April 27,2019 at $35.00 each.

That's $5.00 more than the Killer 1550 was at launch on Amazon.

I guess we can wail for the Intel AX200 on ebay to be cheaper from China or a higher price on Newegg.

I bit the bullet and ordered it!

If I change my AC1550 for the new AX1650, is it better to uninstall the bluetooh drivers and the Killer software before or just to mount the new one will it be recognized?

Although I do not have a Wifi Router 6, I would consider buying it and I like that the new Killer card ensures to consume less.

It won’t really reduce power usage without an ax (WiFi 6) router. The Intel AX200 (Killer 1650) will effectively perform similar to the Intel 9260ac (Killer 1550) in your case as you have an ac (WiFi 5) router. With ax routers faster transfers/communication mean the card can go back into standby/sleep faster thus saving power.

Some additional WiFi 6 power saving/spectral efficiency features like Target Wake Time and BSS Coloring are missing in current crop of ax routers.

As for drivers yeah just to be safe reinstall after the card is put in. But if you have the latest drivers (installer version) installed yes it should just auto detect without issue/without requiring any driver changes.
