The laptop doesn't support charging over USB-C/TB.
You would need to plug in the AC adapter. Not really too much of an issues considering the ports are right next to each other.

the side port is a USB A port not a USB Type C port. That icon indicates it can charge your phone. Others are referring to the USB-C port for charging the laptop itself which it does not support.

hm but manual stands "this port can also be used as a charging port" - that means it can charge other decvices? And other ports can't? Plus as far as i know 3.1 gen 2 is possible to deliver 100wats which could be enough to charge a laptop...

Yes but most laptops with these specs do not include the power delivery circuitry to charge the laptop with USB-C. Simply put, you can charge your phone or tablet with the laptop but cannot charge the laptop with this port. The symbol indicates that it can supply additional current to the phone/tablet that your typical USB ports cannot (and some will even charge the device when the laptop is off).

The lack of USB-C charging of the laptop is a major set back for me when it comes to most portable gaming laptops. The only thing that comes close that I know of is the Dell XPS, and that's not much of a gaming laptop. Thankfully the MSI prestige 14 and upcoming Asus G14 support the feature.

It means it can be used as a charging port when the laptop is sleeping (possibly hibernating/off).

Bit of a suggested house keeping to help troubleshot issues

Either msinfo32 or the [insert brand here] control center (in system monitor) will give you the details some of the harder to find

    Model QC71A (1660 Ti) or QC71B (2070 MaxQ)
    BIOS version :
    Nvidia driver version :
[insert brand here] Control Center version :
Running either MSI afterburner or ASUS GPU Tweak : Yes/No
[insert brand here] Control Center; Power settings, system power mode used (Proformance/Balanced/Battery Saver/All)
Sound blaster connect app installed : Yes/No
    Intel video driver version :

    Model: QC71B
    BIOS version : 60
    Nvidia driver version : 441.41
    Control Center version : 2.1.0.19
Running either MSI afterburner or ASUS GPU Tweak : Yes MSI
Control Center; Power settings, system power mode used: All
Sound blaster connect app installed : Yes
Intel video driver version : 26.20.100.7755

Anyone else having issues with ASUS tweak bumping up the temp limit after upgrading to BIOS 60 (from 58) and can I downgrade to 58 from 60?

Are you saying the slider is locked and adjustments aren't allowed. Or, are you saying you make the adjustment in the ASUS tool but it doesn't seem to have any effect? I have BIOS 58 and can adjust the slider - I haven't updated to the latest bios. Even with the ASUS tweak to 87 degrees, I rarely see that in game and any throttling is due to power.
