Do you have any more info of which c2d's socket P CPU's are compatible with gl960?

There are two Socket P C2Ds that seem to be consistently working with the GL960, though they are not officially supported:

    Core 2 Duo T5250 1500 2048 667
    Core 2 Duo T5450 1667 2048 667

These are the only Socket P C2Ds with a 667MHz FSB. I have not heard of anyone even attempting to use an 800MHz Socket P C2D on the GL960.

The Socket P Pentium Dual-Cores, while not officially supported, is being shipped with many GL960 machines by default. Powerpack suggested that Intel simply hasn't updated their documents and that the GL960 does officially support the PDC:

    Pentium Dual-Core T2310 1466 1024 533
    Pentium Dual-Core T2330 1600 1024 533
    Pentium Dual-Core T2370 1733 1024 533

And of course, there are the Socket P Celeron Ms:

    Celeron M 530 1733 1024 533
    Celeron M 540 1866 1024 533
    Celeron M 550 2000 1024 533
    Celeron M 560 2133 1024 533

So no one thinks that gl960 would be able to handle anything above t5450 say something with a 800mhz fsb? I wish someone tried.

    Great list !!

If I may ask a question......

    I have a
HP Pavilion dv8339us and am wanting to upgrade my memory and processor.

I have the following: HP 430180-001 motherboard 345PM chipset and a T2250 533 fsb processor with 1 gig memory,
    Windows xp media center sp2.

I am upgrading memory to the 2 gig max. Could I replaces the processor with a Core 2 Duo 667 fsb with 4 megs of cache. Would there be a great benefit in doing so or should I stay with the Core Duo line or just memory?

    Thanks

You can replace the processor with a 667MHz FSB C2D if the C2D is Socket M and your BIOS supports it. You will see an increase in performance with some of the faster T5xxx and T7xxx processors, but depending on what you're using the computer for it may or may not make a big difference.

Few of these guides are ever stickied... save for Flamenko's SSD guide which is apparently made of just that much win and awesome.

If you keep updating the 1st post, it should get stickied. Maybe as a minor like my Dual Channel (oh my god I better update!), Lithus and yours should be linked.

Yeah, I just added my notes about the GL960.

There needs to be a master "ULTIMATE UPGRADE GUIDE" or something, linking all of these guides together.
