I'm planning on installing Windows Ultimate and I would prefer to install the 64-Bit version, but I'm unsure if my processor supports it. I read an article where they suggest Duo Cores are 64-Bit processors, but Intel doesn't acknowledge this. Any ideas?

    Core Duo = 32 bit.

    Core 2 Duo = 64 bit.

    T2300, T2400, T2500, T2600, T2050, T2060, T2250 are all Core Duo's, 32 bit.

    T5550, T5560, T7200, T7400, T7600, T7600G area all Core 2 Duo's, 64 bit.

Easy way to memorize. If your Core (2) Duo has 4 MB L2-cache then it is 64 bit, 100%.

Yes, I see it. I don't understand why Windows device manager has it as x86. Would I need to update my BIOS, or something else to take advantage of the 64-Bit technology?

No. 64 bit only differs from 32bit in how the software addresses it. So if you use a 64bit operating system, it'll just address the chip in 64bit mode, rather than 32bit mode. If you want to test just to be sure, download the 64bit Ubuntu livecd or something, and boot from that. If it boots, you know it works in 64bit mode.

Because Windows is running the CPU in 32-bit mode. :)
