Thanks! As expected, this also worked for my Killer 1650 adapter.

Intel WLAN driver 21.120.2 and Intel PROSet version 21.120.2

    Info and download:

    downloadmirror.intel.com/ReleaseNotes_WiFi_21.120.2
    downloadcenter.intel.com/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers
    downloadcenter.intel.com/Windows-10-Wi-Fi-Drivers-for-Intel-Wireless-Adapters

Intel has updated the WLAN driver and also the Intel PROSet to version 21.120.2. The most important change for everyone: The installer now works again and you don't have to take the zip file. But other bugs have also been fixed.

Intel's versions numbering is screwed. Newer WHQL driver come with versions number below their Beta version.

Thanks - the WHQL version (8681) installs and works. As has been typical, the installer tries to run again after reboot, but the driver is ok.

*5 in release notes. Are you following the correct uninstallation procedure?

Starting with driver 27.20.100.8190, there will no longer be an Intel Graphics Driver entry in Add or Remove Programs as recommended by Microsoft. Additionally, Graphics and Audio drivers must be uninstalled separately and only from Device Manager, as shown in the screenshots.

Then do the DDU uninstallation process. Last point, check if all the Intel drivers (audio-graphics) is totally removed with Driver store Explorer. Delete ramaining drivers if needed with the tool and re-start.

Good point. I have not been uninstalling the previous versions, but I have been checking to see if the new one was installed. I will uninstall first in the future and let you know if that works. The Intel Driver check thinks the new ones are installed, FWIW.

Yikes! I did the uninstall as described, then tried install ("Operating System not supported" - mine is 19042.508). I rebooted, and an older version of the drivers got installed. I uninstalled that, and got the "not supported" again. I rebooted, and the "basic Microsoft video adapter" appeared. Then, installation of the new drivers worked. After the reboot, as usual, the installer wanted to run again. However, Device Manager and the Intel update program think the new drivers are installed. I think I will stop there, for now.
