    Hi,

I am running vista, and can't seem to find the option to return my laptop to its factory settings.....can anybody help with this?

I am not interested in this restore system that goes back to certain dates....I want a fresh start so to speak.:)

    Cheers

You could format. But make sure to read up!

It was a hastle i had to endure. Not reading.

    All is well now

You'll be able to get all your old programs back by going to the dell support site.

if you want to reformat to factory condition (with all the bloatware), then press ctrl+f11 at the part at start-up when the blue bar comes up with "dell.com" on it. if you miss it then just let it start up, then restart and try again

Thanks for the reply - however, it never worked. Ctrl + F11 didnt activate anything.

Don't suppose you have any other suggestions that may be of help? Alternatively, whats your thoughts on my other post in this section of the forum, its titled "PROBLEMS!!!"

    Cheers

You have to start doing it as soon as it says "www.dell.com" on the blue bar at the top of the screen. Hit Ctrl+F11 repeatedly and eventually you will see a message about DSRCheck.
