I might add one thing, to do this mod you wouldn't really need to cut anything IMO.

As long as you connect the TME pin to GND with a resistor it should work fine.

If it doesn't disable TME, maybe use a 2k resistor or something smaller.

Safer than cutting pins/tracks (I think).

Thanks again moral hazard for your advise. I will try your way and if it doesn't work i'll try a 2k or 5k resistor. How do i know if it doesn't work or not? What size of wire do i need to do this PLL pinmod ?

okay, let me keep on looking for the PLL and report back. From the look in the picture, it look like the same chip that i have but it has the different number on it. i tried to look around cpu and the ram area but no luck so far.Any hint on finding this chip's location?

    Hi moral hazard,
sorry it took so long to respond. I had problems with my dell 1525, tried to take the laptop apart and it seem like my key board connection pins were damaged and i just got it back to working condition again and wrapped it up and not to tried to look for my PLL chip for now. i didn't want the key board to stop working from trying to look for the PLL chip. Maybe if i know exactly where to look for it , then it is ok to proceed with the mod. Thank you for your help.

I have a Dell inspiron 1520, with mobile intel 965 express chipset, CPU: Intel T7250 2.0 GHz and 1 GB (2*512MB) RAM.

I am wondering if this mod will work on my 1520 :)
